Pt. Keshav Ginde
Background & Early Life
Pt. Dr. Keshav Ginde was born into a traditional Warkari family in Belgaum, Karnataka — a rich cultural backdrop that introduced him early to devotional music. His grandfather, Damodar Ginde, was his first guru in vocal music and percussion. Keshavji began playing the flute at age 6, and was soon drawn toward the artistic and spiritual depth of the instrument. Inspired by a 1952 performance of Pt. Pannalal Ghosh, young Keshav dedicated his life to the bansuri. He trained rigorously under Pt. Haripada Choudhury and Pt. Devendra Murdeshwar — direct disciples of Pt. Pannalal Ghosh — for over 34 years.
